My Floral Immersion
As florals play such a big part in my painted subject matter, I feel the need to surround myself with more flowers so I’ve got the visual vocabulary to push my painting practice on and keep things fresh.
Central to this plan was my signing up for Featherstones Flower Club…because when talking about creativity, I’ll always rattle on about our being 'sponge-like' and while we might not realise it, we’re soaking up our surroundings and experiences, building a store for the next time we sit down to create.
(If you'd like to see how this actually feeds into my work, you can read more about that HERE)
And to help keep me motivated further, this year I'll be exhibiting in two garden show events; RHS Badminton in July and this June, I'll be in the Art & Design Marquee at the Broadlands Garden Show...just to clarify, I've not turned my hand to gardening; I'll be exhibiting my floral paintings at the show and will have some new pieces making their debut...now I've said that, I'll HAVE to finish them!
Read on for all the show details and if you do visit over the weekend, please drop by to say 'hello' as it's always good to see a friendly face.
